UniGRAPHICS : Make a sketch rectangle

In previous articles, we have learned to make the plane, the next step to make seketch drawing on the plane that we created earlier. This time we will learn to create a sketch 2d rectangle. In making the rectangle are many steps that we can do, including making a rectangle by selecting the two diagonal corners. By using the cursor to determine the angle, this allows us to see the rectangular before it actually made.

Rectangles created in the XC-YC plane, YC, ZC, or XC-ZC. The Rectangle option provides the option to make the curve and sketch steps to create a rectangle: 1. Make the first corner; using Point Constructors or enter the input coordinates. 2. Making the second corner; by pulling the cursor to the desired location and click a mouse button or enter the coordinates.

We can make the sides of rectangular horizontal or vertical grid associated with the sketch. For the rectangle side that is on a different orientation, create a line of Parallelogram. In addition, to make a rectangle: 1. 1. Click Rectangle on the Sketch toolbar, or Tools, Sketch Entity, Rectangle. 2. . Click to place the first end of the rectangle, drag, and release when the rectangle according to the size and shape.

We can move and change the dimensions by clicking again the form we have created. (Click-click mode). By dragging the cursor, the rectangle dimensions are dynamically displayed. To change the size or shape of a rectangle: In the sketch, pull to the side or upwards. We can make a sketch of the segment to release when we are dragging it. Click Tools, Sketch Settings, Remove Segment on Drag.

To change the properties of individual lines in the rectangle: In an open sketch, select the line and edit the properties in the Line PropertyManager. In the sketch, select and edit the line in PropertyManager Line.
To exit the sketch, please click finish sketch.

Datum planes

We can use datum planes as a tool in creating other features,
such as cylinder, cone, sphere, revolved solid bodies.
datum planes also created a feature in another angle than usual for the faces of the target solids.
we can create two types of datum planes: the relative and fixed

datum planes used are usually:
-Relative Datum Planes
Datum Planes relative made in reference to another object in our model. we can use the curves, faces, edges, points,
and other references as an object reference to Datum Planes. There are various methods that we can use to make Datum Planes.
we can make relatively Datum Planes in several agencies.
-Fixed Datum Planes
Fixed Datum Planes do not include and not limited by any other geometric object,
except when used in user-defined features. we can use one method for Relative Datum Planes
Fixed Datum Planes made by deselecting the option in the dialog associative Plane Datum.
There are also special methods that can be used to make reference Datum Planes remain based WCS and the Absolute coordinate system and by using the coefficient in the equation.Datum planes

make 3d shapes

On this occasion we will start using the existing facilities in Unigraphics to draw 3dimensi. One of the facilities we will use to draw 3d is Extrude
Use this facility to create a body with sweeping 2D or 3D profile curve, edge, face, sketch or feature curve is linear distance in a certain direction.

Boolean option allows us to create, together, cut the object that we make.

The steps create a simple extrusion using a sketch

1. Select the Extrude option, a dialog bar that displays the Extrude dialog.

2. Setting Selection of Intent to Add Connected.

3. To select a set of strings profile curve or edge, or a sketch.

Preview display features extruded using a default value.

4. Limit Pull the handle, or use the distance field in the dialog box or in a dynamic input to the desired size of the extrusion.

5. Click OK. Recommended extrusion has been made

Divide Face

Subdivide Face is now renamed Divide Face. Divide Face is an operator that divides one or more faces with dividing objects, like edges, curves or planes.
Divide Face: 1 = Face to Divide, 2 = Dividing ObjectDivide Face now enables you to: Divide multiple faces in one feature through an improved user interaction. Use Selection Intent to pick faces for division, and to pick dividing objects. Now, you can also use the Stop at Intersection selection intent and the new Follow Fillet selection intent option to pick dividing objects. Use curves, edges, faces, and datum planes as dividing objects. Specify the projection direction for dividing objects. There is a new projection direction option called Normal to Curve Plane. If you select a curve/edge or a set of curves/edges, the system determines whether they lie on the same plane. If they do, the projection direction is automatically set as normal to that plane. Specify that the selected dividing objects be blanked after the divide face operation. Control the projection of any curves that lie within faces if they are selected as dividing objects. You can prevent unwanted projections when all sides of a body have dividing curves and you want them to divide only the faces they lie in.

Preview the face division result.
Why Should I Use It?
Use Divide Face to divide one or many faces in a single operation, using multiple dividing objects. Divide Face is normally used to create parting edges on models of patterns, molds, or dies, and the parts they are associated with.

View Distance dimension

Unigraphics 3D displays the minimum distance as the Ruler labeled with the value. The software also includes additional information in the Information window. This includes 2D relative distances, the coordinates of the closest point on each object, and absolute distance deltaand WCS coordinates.
Distance OptionsTo access the Distance selection options, use Distance Analysis
The following toolbar will appear:Distance ToolbarThe system asks us to choose the object to be measured length or distance. When using the Analysis รถ9b Distance between two areas of datum, the returned value will be zero if the planes are not parallel.
The next two options on the toolbar Distance deemed Point or a Point or Two Objects and Object.Use this option to identify the start and end points which we will measure the distance. One point or object, and Point or Two ObjectsSelect starting point or the first object to measure the distance.Select the second point or object.

Continue by selecting the object to start a new measurement.
Select 3 or objects starting point to begin a new measurement
Select this option to measure 3D distances.
Select the object we start measuring the distance, when we move the cursor to select the second point, drawing a ruler appears.

make edge blend

To begin to make edge blend, use one of the following methods:
We can choose to blend a first edge, and then
Select the Edge Blend option from the pull-down or
Choose an option from the toolbar Edge Blend

Lagkah steps that must be done
Use the selection phase to determine the edge blend.
Once we establish an edge, we can modify
we can change the radius common to all sides into the edge sets.
we can add value different radii at points along the edge to produce a variable radius

surface extensions

This option allows us to make the tangential, normal to the surface, angled or circular sheets lextension controlled from the existing base sheet.
In certain cases when the underlying surface is the surface-face basis B, the extension body is represented by a surface-B. But often, the extension body is still approximate. For example, angled and normal to the surface extensions are always approximate.
To make the extension bodies, choose from one of the following options:
Tangential

Allows us to make bodies that intersect with the edge, face, or corner.
Normal to surface
Allows us to make a normal extension to the face along the curve in the face.

Angled
Allows us to make the bodies at a certain angle to the extension of the existing face to face along the curve.
Circular
Allows us to create a circular extension from the edge of the smooth surface. extension to follow the radius of curvature along the edge selected.

Extension is estimated using the tolerance specified distance in Modeling Preferences dialog.
Each option extension creation there are some basic steps:
The first time we choose the face that there is a base face. This is the face extension body "extends."
we also choose an existing object such as base curve, edge, or in the case of corner extensions, angle. This sets the base sheet face intersection with the extension body. When we select the edge or corner, we must determine the point on the surface near the desired object. This point is used to determine the edges or corners to be extended.
Various vector direction is also displayed to help us determine the direction of bodies, or angle for bodies.
It is possible to make extensions of self-intersecting (ie the cut itself).
For example, we can make the normal to the surface long extension on the concave side of a curved face, which will intersect itself. It is recommended that you visually check the face for this condition.
